Arlington Real Estate Agents Unite to Help Those in Need
(Arlington, VA) – This year, 11 real estate firms and KVS Title are joining forces to provide essentials for those in need this holiday season throughout the Arlington community. The firms work together as Arlington Realtors Care (ARC) to collect donated food and clothing items from the public. These items will then be delivered from their offices to The Arlington Food Assistance Center and A-Span. The food and clothing drive will continue through December 31. The goal of the ARC drive is to bring aid to those most in need.
For members of the public who are interested in donating, there is one drop off location. On December 15 from 10 am – 1 pm, donations will be accepted at Weichert Arlington, 4701 Old Dominion Road.
Items donated will be delivered to the individual charitable organizations. Clothing items will be delivered to A-SPAN, an organization that strives to end homelessness in Arlington through housing and ongoing case management. Food donations will be delivered to The Arlington Food Assistance Center, a community-based non-profit that provides supplemental groceries to Arlington residents.
A-Span’s current needs are sneakers, NEW socks, winter-wear (gloves, scarfs, beanies), NEW underwear and bras, blankets and backpacks. Items should be new, cleaned or recently laundered.
AFAC accepts most unopened, unexpired, and unprepared foods, including perishable items. The organization is most in need of low sodium tomato products (diced, paste, & sauce), low sodium canned tuna, low sodium canned soups, low sodium canned beans, low sugar cereal and cooking oil.
