Leesburg
Leesburg is the county seat for Loudoun County and has a long history. Built in 1740, this area played a role in the War of 1812. Though numerous historic buildings exist here, it's a quaint, modern community nonetheless. It sits at the base of Catoctin Mountain and is right next to the Potomac River, providing residents with a blend of urban lifestyle, historic charm, and lots of green spaces. Noted as a commuter city, many who work in DC live here, and with over 53,000 people calling it home, Leesburg has made a name for itself.
Leesburg offers a range of home styles, including a few Tudor homes. Many are colonials with over 2,500 square feet of space, although some are much larger, offering as much as 6,000 square feet. Mansions are not uncommon, but the area also has pockets of smaller bungalow-style homes and a few townhouse and condo developments. Residents who live here are served by Loudoun County Public Schools, with Heritage High School, Loudon Country Day School, and Riverside High School nearby.
