Foxhill Village + Burleith + Hillandale + Glover Park
Foxhill Village is home to about 2,200 people and is easily considered one of the best places to live in DC. The houses are valued at well over $1 million here and often consist of beautiful rowhouses. This is one of the region's oldest and largest planned developments, with many of the Tudor Revival-style homes creating the feel of an old English village. It's a historic district that's nearly all residential.
In Burleith, a small community of under 550 people, it's easy to fall in love with architecture and the quaint feel of the area. This is a tree-lined area with much to offer, including stately homes and some attractive rowhomes. Guy Mason Recreation Center is located here, as is Duke Ellington Field. Burleith is the type of place where you'll love watching the autumn leaves turn.
The community of Hillandale is much more exclusive and situated next to Georgetown University and the French Embassy. This gated community has only 267 homesites with outstanding amenities, including a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a beautiful playground. It's near the White House, M Street, and the C&O Canal.
Glover Park is a fabulous urban area ideal for those who want single-family homes near a small downtown area surrounded by greenspaces. More laid-back than other areas, it's home to a community garden and Stoddert Field, a small sports field. The Glover Archbold Park is also here and provides some outstanding hiking opportunities. With a few shops and restaurants, Glover Park is in the heart of it all yet remains peaceful.
