NEIGHBORHOOD
Purcellville
Purcellville is a quaint community that only spans about three square miles. It's home to some of the most stately and beautiful homes of the 1900s, many of which have Victorian architecture. Single-family homes are common, but there are also a few apartment and condo developments here. Many homes are larger, with 3,000 square feet of space common. Some were built in the 2000s, while others date to the 1980s or are much older. There's also a lot of open green space here for those looking to build a home close to the big city.
Purcellville is only a short commute into the city, but it feels rural, with more green space than many other areas. Residents enjoy proximity to the Chapman DeMary Trail, which is perfect for those who want a long hike or bike run. Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink and the Loudoun Golf & Country Club are in this area of the community. The Loudoun County Public School systems serve the community, with Loudoun Valley High School, Harmony Middle School, and Mountain View Elementary Schools among the most well-attended. A few restaurants and shops exist along 20th St. and Route 7, providing easy access to day-to-day needs.
Bluemont
Located just off Route 7, Bluemont is a lovely place to live with a mixture of older, historic homes, newer properties, and affluent subdivisions. It's noted for its history, which is easily spotted in the various historically valuable homes, including old schoolhouses, throughout the area. Yet, for many residents, Bluemont is quite modern, offering an exceptional level of privacy, lots of green space, and good access to the city.
Residents who call Bluemont home benefit from being at the base of Snickers Gap within the Blue Ridge Mountains. Beautiful views of parks and densely wooded areas are common. The community stretches to the Shenandoah River, providing ample paths and trails to enjoy. Around every turn is a new place to visit, whether a brewery or a fabulous winery. It's a friendly community where people know each other, and it's not uncommon to call your neighbor to chat. The Loudon County Public Schools serve the community though it's a bit of a drive from one school to the next.
